LOCATION

The Calvià International Marathon will take place on 11.12.2011 for the 28th time round. Organized by ADA CALVIÀ, the starting line is located in“Avenida de Les Palmeres” in Magaluf (Calvià- Mallorca) and the finishing line is Magaluf Athletics Track.

COMPETITIONS

• -        Marathon (42,195 km). Officially measured by Real Federación Española de Atletismo (RFEA).
• -        Halfmarathon (21,097 km). Officially measured by Real Federación Española de Atletismo (RFEA).
• -        10 km.
• -        10.000m Nordic Walking.

Friday 9 December

• 17h-20h Bib numbers to be picked up at Magaluf Athletics Track.

Saturday 10 December

• 10h-14h Bib numbers to be picked up at Magaluf Athletics Track.
• 13h “Pasta Party” at Hotel Sol Cala Blanca.
• 16h-20h Bib numbers to be picked up in Magaluf Athletics Track.

Sunday 11 December

• 9h Start time of Marathon and Half Marathon. Warning: the start line is about 300m away from the Magaluf Athletics Track (Finish line).
• 9:15h Start time of 10km and 10.000 m Nordic Walking.
• 11h Awards ceremony for 10.000m and Nordic Walking at Magaluf Athletics Track.
• 13h Awards ceremony for Marathon and Half Marathon at Magaluf Athletics Track.

REGISTRATION FEES

Marathon

• 45 euros until october 31th.
• 50 euros from 1st until november 30th.
• 55 euros from 1st to december 8th.
• 60 euros in Marathon Expo (december 9th und 10th ).

Half Marathon

• 20 euros until october 31th.
• 25 euros from 1st until november 30th.
• 28 euros from 1st to december 11th.
• 33 euros in Marathon Expo (december 9th und 10th ).

10 km und 10.000m Nordic Walking

• 12 euros until october 31th.
• 15 euros from 1st until november 30th.
• 17 euros from 1st to december 11th.
• 22 euros in Marathon Expo (december 9th und 10th ).

Plus 3 euros/chip renting.

Free registration for 65 years and over.

REGISTRATION Registration is only possible online at: www.elitechip.net

Internet registration deadline will be at 20h on December 8th. Late Entries are possible in the Marathon Expo, that takes place at Magaluf Athletics Track from December, 9th to 10th (until 20h).

Race numbers will not be distributed on race day!

CATEGORIES

There will be one classification for men and another for women. Also classifications according to the following age groups in Marathon, Half Marathon and 10.000m:

- Junior (18 y 19 years). Warning: runners under 18 are not allowed to run the Marathon or the Half-Marathon.

- Under 23: (20, 21 y 22 years).

- Master M35/W35, M40/W40, M45/W45, M50/W50, M55/W55, M60/W60, M65/W65.

In Nordic Walking there will be only one classification for men and another for women, and no age groups.

TIMING

Timing is done by ChampionChip. The ChampionChip is a plastic transponder which has to be attached to your running shoe. It registers your personal time.

The following options may be used:

-        Chip owners may enter their personal chip numbers on the registration form on line.

-        Chips may also be purchased when picking-up the bib number.

-        Chips may be rented with the option to purchase. You may rent the chip (3 euros) and return it undamaged within 2 hours of the end of the event.

REFRESHMENTS

Refeshments will be available starting at the 5 km mark and from the 10 km mark, every 5 km.

Athletes can hand in their own refreshments from 16h to 20h on 10th December in Magaluf Athletics Track. Bottles must have Athlete's bib number and the kilometer where it must be placed.

DISQUALIFICATIONS There will be automatic disqualification for runners who: Do not display their numbers clearly. Do not finish the complete circuit. Alter or conceal their race number. Take the race number belonging to another participant. Finish the race without displaying their number clearly. Do not abide by the instructions, rules and regulations of the judges and personnel of the organization. All disqualified runners will automatically lose all awards and prizes.

Finishing line will be closed at 14.00 h (5 hours after the start).

CLASSIFICATIONS

Results will be published in www.maratondecalvia.com 

Any claim with regard to the published results may by seen at this website. All the classifications are exclusively the domain of the Committee of Judges and Timekeepers of the FAIB ( Federaciò d´Atheletisme de les Illes Balears)

ANTI-DOPING

Doping control will be carried out on the athletes (men and women) who are designated by the Federation referees. We remind all participants that the refusal to take the doping control is automatic disqualification. Participants who win a cash prize will not receive it until they successfully pass the doping control.

a. Marathon: first 5 men and first 5 women.

b. Half Marahon: first 5 men and first 5 women.

c. 10.000m: first 3 men and first 3 women.

d. Nordic Walking: first 3 men and first 3 women.

e. Additionally in Marathon, Half Marathon and 10Km there will be awards for the first three runners in the following categories: Junior, U23, Master (M35/W35, M40/W40, M45/W45, M50/W50, M55/W55, M60/W60, M65/W65)

f. Special awards: runners older than 70 years and wheelchair athletes.

INSURANCE

Participation is at own risk. Adequate training, the requisite health and physical condition are mandatory. We recommend a medical check up for every athlete who runs this distance for the first time and for every competitor who has not raced within the previous 6 months.

All officially registered participants (competitors) are covered by an insurance policy, taken out by the organizer, which will cover accidents which occur as a direct consequence of the race and are not derived from previous lesions, latent defects, injuries, carelessness, negligence, or nonobservance of the law or articles of the regulations, etc. nor those produced during travel to and from the place where the race (competion) will take place.

MORE SERVICES 1) All the officially registered competitors will be presented with a “runners bag” containing various items. All participants will receive a medal at the finishing. 2) Marathon Expo: Indoor Hall in Magaluf Athletics Track.

3) Changing rooms, lockers, massages, toilets and showers will be situated at the Finish Area the Magaluf Athletics Track.
